GingerBeard’s—named for the remarkable plumage on founder Harry Calvert’s face—are preserves and condiments notable for their quirky flavour combinations. A Bristol company through and through, Gingerbeard’s are passionate about sourcing as many local ingredients as possible, including locally sourced herbs, chillis and bacon. Some of GingerBeard’s most exciting concoctions are a result of innovative local collaborations, which include some of Better Food’s own favourites like Nutcessity and Arbor Ales.
Mission and values: GingerBeard’s are on a mission to create a wide range of traditional and innovative preserves and sauces to pair with and enhance cuisines from around the world. They never add pectin, gelling agents or artificial preservatives, they produce their products according to what’s in season, and are mindful to reuse, recycle or donate for upcycling as much of their waste as possible.
