Animal Testing

Fortunately, the sale of cosmetics and toiletries that are tested on animals, or contain ingredients that have been tested on animals, is banned in the UK. However, animal testing is still something that we need to be aware of as some household cleaning products may contain animal tested ingredients, and some brands may be animal testing for sale elsewhere in the world.

In our sourcing

We don’t stock any products that have been tested on animals, or whose ingredients have been tested on animals. We won’t take on a new brand if their products are tested on animals for foreign markets, and we’ll delist any brand whose products are found to be tested on animals for this reason too.

Where we want to be

We’d like to be sure that none of the brands we stock test their products on animals for foreign markets. We feel that the types of cosmetic and bodycare brands we work with are unlikely to be engaged in this kind of activity, but we will be reviewing some of the larger brands we stock to be sure.

How are we keeping an eye on this policy and putting it into practice?

All new suppliers are asked to confirm that they do not test their products or its ingredients on animals, and to sign up to our Supplier Code of Conduct confirming both this and that they do not test for foreign markets. We will be reviewing some of the existing cosmetic and bodycare brands we stock to ensure this is not the case for them either.
