Less but better

We’re proud to stock meat, fish and dairy from incredible suppliers, practising some of the best standards of farming and fishing in the country. Organic farms help to combat climate change through their whole system approach to farming, as well as upholding the highest standards of animal welfare, and we believe responsible fishing can be part of a healthy marine ecosystem. We’re also proud to stock a huge range of plant based alternatives to meat, fish and dairy. We believe that increasing our consumption of plant based foods, whilst also choosing meat, fish and dairy from responsible sources is one the best things we can all do to reduce the impact of our diet on the planet, and a great choice for our health too. Less but better.

In our sourcing and cafés

We prioritise organic certification for our meat and dairy, and fish from small scale, low impact fishing. We stock an extensive and varied range of plant based foods.

Our cafés offer a predominantly plant based menu, and use only organic meat and organic or locally-sourced cheese from select farms.

In our practice

We emphasise plant based diets and products through our customer communications, both online and in store, as well as occasionally highlighting the positive environmental practices of our meat, dairy and fish suppliers. We only promote meat suppliers and products that are organic certified through our communications and our special offers.

Our staff are offered a free organic, plant based lunch every day.

Where we want to be

We’d like more of our food community to join us in eating less but better, and we’ll continue to do everything we can to invite our customers and our team to explore this rewarding way of eating!

How are we keeping an eye on this policy and putting it into practice?

We ask all suppliers to tell us whether or not their products are vegan or vegetarian. Our buying team actively seek out plant based products to ensure we carry as wide a range as possible, and in sourcing meat and dairy they always prioritise organic.

We ask the dietary preferences (meat, vegetarian, vegan) of customers subscribing to our mailing list so that anyone following a predominantly plant based diet only receives content relevant to their lifestyle.
