Hi there! We’re Better Food, a Bristol-based retailer and café, selling organic, local, and ethical food and goods.
Way back in 1992 our founder Phil Haughton set up an organic vegetable box scheme to get good food from the hinterland to the city. Today we have three stores and employee around 120 people.
Better Food is shaped by the people it employs. We are artists, therapists, growers, cooks, parents, all working to heal, nourish and care for people and planet. Campaigning is a big part of what we do, so to hear more about the issues that matter to us, check out our blog and sustainability page. When you pop by, we’ll be happy to wax lyrical about the things that matter to us, you and Bristol, so don’t be shy, come and chat to us!
Ultimately, our mission is to build a better, fairer food community.
To do this, we will be the best independent retailer at making organic and local food accessible to all, whilst respecting and celebrating all in the food chain.
