Our Favourite Female Founders
For International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating some of the female founders that we stock. Incredible brands founded by amazing women, and we want to celebrate their work with you.
Not only do we love the products that they have created, we are inspired by their stories and the ethos that they have channelled into their brands and teams.
Here are some of our favourite founders and what they’re about.
Maame, Purscents
After burning candles to boost her mood during COVID lockdowns, Maame realised that refilling her empty candle vessels was the most sustainable way to repurpose them, and so, Purscents was born. By using refill packs, we can collectively make a positive impact on the candle industry, reducing the number of candle jars ending up in landfill.
Lucie, Bath Culture House
Leaving the corporate world to build Bath Culture House from scratch, Lucie now works with a team of 10, cultivating a culture of its own that promotes inclusivity and flexibility. Lucie believes the security, freedom and good people of Bath Culture House are what happiness is about!
Julie, Wild Sage + Co
In a small cabin just outside of Bristol, Julie stepped into the world of soap making. Touting a commitment to simple beauty regimes, Wild Sage was born, always with an ethos that skincare should be simple and derived from ingredients found in nature.
Ellie, Kinda Co
Ellie was spurred to develop delicious vegan cheese after switching to a dairy-free diet. What started as a one-woman enterprise has grown to a commercial kitchen in north Somerset, where their culture of kindness isn’t just in a name but also affects every aspect of how the business is run.
Amelia, Bold Bean Co
Amelia is on a mission to make people obsessed with the best of beans! She was inspired by the delicious creations of the chefs she worked with, who elevated beans beyond ‘filler food’. Amelia has grown a loyal community of fellow ‘beanspo’ lovers on Instagram who are a key part of the Bold Bean Co story.
Faith, Faith and Betty
With a background in Aromatherapy, Herbal Medicine and Holistic Therapy, Faith started making ointments for her son when he was born. The natural world plays an important role in her life, and in Faith and Betty’s mission to provide plant-based and nutrient-rich body care products.
Caroline, Caro’s Creams
When Caroline’s child developed Eczema and over-the-counter creams weren’t doing the job, she went ahead and developed her own. She has never looked back since! Using her passion for herbs and hedgerow medicine, Caroline makes products that are good quality, natural and healing to the mind, skin and soul. As well as being committed to clean beauty, Caro’s Creams is committed to zero waste.
