Plan ahead
Camping is a great way to reconnect with nature. It gives us an opportunity to reflect on the importance of looking after our environment. Get the most out of your camping trip, by planning ahead whilst keeping waste and cost to a minimum.
Making a meal plan, and preparing home-made sauces ahead of time will save time and effort once you’re there, as well as pre-making seasoning mixes to avoid purchasing expensive and wasteful sachets. Bring basics (oil, salt, sugar) from home in small reusable containers rather than making unnecessary purchases when you arrive at your destination.
Lastly, when waste is unavoidable, come prepared to dispose of it effectively. Check if where you’re staying has recycling points, and bring different bags/ containers so that you can sort your waste correctly and ensure that recyclable items don’t end up in landfill.

Make a meal of meals
Campsite cooking doesn’t have to be bland! An evening spent preparing and eating delicious food in the outdoors is a great way to unwind and bring people together. Make sure you opt for sustainable cooking methods such as If You Care firelighters or Green Olive Company charcoal.
If you prefer to lean on the side of more time playing and less time cooking, we really rate our organic tinned ready meals for both flavour and eco credentials.
Lastly, make the most of the fire or BBQ as the evening draws in by toasting some delicious vegan marshmallows.

Pamper yourself
A camping holiday doesn’t mean forgoing indulgences of luxury breaks. A DIY spa treatment is a great way of incorporating some self-care into your trip, and unwinding after a busy day.
Coconut oil can help re-hydrate skin after a long day spent on the beach. Its antimicrobial and antioxidant qualities leave skin feeling soft and replenished. Customise your facemask to care for your skin type by mixing with turmeric for oily skin or honey for dry.
Take an eye mask for sleeping to give you a soothing sleep, too. Depending how late you like to sleep in, an eye mask will help keep the dawn at bay!
