Thanks a brunch for being patient with us whilst we work our magic at our Gloucester Road café. We’re so excited to be reopening on Saturday 11th May, bringing you not only a better, cosier café experience but 9 NEW brunch dishes. We can’t contain our excitement!

Our brunch menu is inspired by the fabulous array of herbs and spices that you know and love from our salads, perfectly combined with beautiful organic fresh produce. We’ve put a twist on traditional brunch favourites using the best organic, local and ethical products you can find. Featuring The Story Farms from Chew Magna, Greens of Glastonbury, Strode Valley Organics, Lye Cross Farm and The Bristol Loaf.

We also wanted to improve the experience for you. We’ve moved the service area towards the café entrance so you’ll be immediately welcomed by our friendly team and see what daily offering we have available. We’ve created more seating with comfier bench seats and a couple of booths (these are always a favourite) as well as a high bar and stools in one window so you can watch Gloucester Road go by. We have beautiful new wooden table tops from Bristol Wood Recycling Project to give some more warmth to the café, as well as more plants and a small gallery wall showcasing the history of Better Food.

Brunch Menu

Served 9am-4pm Monday – Saturday and 10am-3pm on Sundays.


Shakshuka (V) – £10.95

Baked eggs in a rich North African tomato sauce with coriander, cumin and paprika, served with fresh coriander. Vegan tofu option available.

Bishopston Brekkie – £12.95

The Story Farms chipolatas, smoky mixed beans, garlic mushrooms, slow roasted cherry tomatoes, sesame roasted green beans, black pudding and toasted seeds.

Vegan Brekkie (VG) – £11.95

Tofu roasted with rosemary and garlic, smoky mixed beans, tangy smashed avocado, garlic mushrooms, slow roasted cherry tomatoes, sesame roasted green beans and toasted seeds.

On Toast

Smoky Beans (VG) – £7.95

Smoky mixed beans braised in a homemade tomato sauce topped with sesame roasted green beans and a drizzle of homemade chili oil.

Tofu and Mushrooms (VG) – £9.95

Tofu roasted with rosemary and garlic topped with garlic mushrooms. Garnished with toasted seeds and a drizzle of rosemary oil.

Avocado (VG) – £7.95

Tangy smashed avocado with slow roasted cherry tomatoes, rocket, toasted seeds and finished with a drizzle of garlic oil.


Beef – £8.95

Slow roasted topside beef with a homemade chimichurri, garlic mushrooms, and Lye Cross Farm vintage cheddar.

Cheese and Sauerkraut (V) – £7.95

Greens of Glastonbury cheddar and Better Food house sauerkraut.

Vegan Cheese (VG) – £7.95

Homemade pesto with smoked Applewood vegan cheese, balsamic red onions and courgette.
